One simple activity that can be done is to take the students out to the school parking lot and take data of the types of cars (cars vs trucks, cheap vs luxury etc) and use this data in whichever way you feel useful.
-If they were a car dealership trying to sell cars, what cars would they get based on the data?
-How would they represent the data graphically?
-Based on their original hypothesis about students’ cars, how doe the data compare?
