In the lesson linked below students will continue to learn to solve systems of linear equations using the elimination method by adding or subtracting equations. Students will expand upon their knowledge of how to solve systems of equations word problems by using learned patterns to solve systems involving money. Students will play a game with randomly
generated equations to determine if they able to eliminate a variable by adding or

Third day:
Students will continue to solve systems of linear equations by the elimination method by
adding or subtracting the equations and learn to multiply one or both equations by a
constant to manipulate the coefficients of the variables in order to eliminate a variable.
Students will play a game with randomly generated equations to determine if they able
to eliminate a variable by adding or subtracting two equations, or determine if they
