What are some creative ways of teaching/explaining this?

A good area problem is discussing the the different prices of pizzas and why a Large pizza is a much better buy than a small or personal pan pizza. Students are often amazed that pizza with a 16-inch diamter actually has four times more food than a pizza with an 8-inch diamter.
